Eco Tourism

When we began our adventure with Mortimer's Lodge, it was important to us that we would strive to be as sustainable as possible. We wanted to be sensitive to our fragile environment, be the best we can with sustainable management, positively provide social & economic benefits to the local community, and promote our local cultural heritage. That's when we discovered the "Strive 4 Sustainability" program with Eco Tourism Australia.

Working full-time, we took our time and carefully and methodically completed this detailed audit program, and were pleased with the outcome, after our first attempt.

We were assessed and achieved a score of 78% !!

​

Now we are energised to continue to work through some excellent initiatives to improve this score. As our guests, we hope you too can help us in our journey of continuous improvement, and support our endeavours to be a small but proud ambassador for Sustainable Tourism in our little community.
